Abstract
Objectives : The aim of this study was to investigate the preliminary effectiveness of the combination of trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) in victims of crime in Korea.

Methods : A non-controlled pilot study with 19 patients at Incheon Smile Center for Victims of Crime from 2014 to 2018 was conducted. Korean version of the Posttraumatic Diagnosis Scale (PDS), Korean Version of the Impact of Event Scale-Revised (IES-R), Korean-Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II), Korean-Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) were measured and analyzed at baseline and at the end of treatment.

Results : PDS, IES-R, BDI-II, BAI scores were improved after the combination therapy of TF-CBT and EMDR. The posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) diagnosis group showed the significant improvement in all scales except for avoidance items in IES-R, and the improvement in all items in the adjustment disorder, major depressive disorder, and anxiety disorder groups.

Conclusion : The combination therapy of TF-CBT and EMDR has been shown to improve self-report scale scores for clinical symptoms in victims of crime.
